With locations in countries such as Canada, Japan, France, and Singapore, one thing is sure: the Lumina experiences have become a global sensation.

The enchanting world of Moment Factory's Lumina Series originated back in 2014 in Quebec, with the goal of immersing visitors in a one-of-a-kind experience that combines nature, storytelling and technology, creating wondrous immersive night walks through beautiful landscapes.

From fun facts to unique creative and technological processes, discover some of the magic behind the Lumina Series and what makes each of them a universe unlike any other.

1 - Born in Quebec - Foresta Lumina was created for the Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook, Canada back in 2014— close to Moment Factory’s headquarters, and making us the first multimedia studio to produce immersive night walks.

2 - Keeping Visitors Overnight - The very first Lumina was initially created with an objective in mind: encouraging tourists to spend the night in the region. Initially, the Parc de la Gorge wanted to illuminate their bridge, but when Moment Factory’s team visited the site, inspired by its beauty, a night walk was born instead.

3 - Japan, First International Location - Island Lumina opened on April 1st 2018 in Nagasaki, Japan where visitors explored a twilight journey following Yura, a young girl on a quest to find an enchanted jewel.

4 - Unexpected Locations - The distinctive feature of Lumina Night Walks is that they transform outdoor sites, including parks, botanical gardens, zoos, historic forts and other natural or heritage spaces, into illuminated and enchanted journeys. Thanks to the magic of multimedia and original storytelling, most often inspired by local culture, visitors get to discover or rediscover a site in a new light.

5 - Through Canyons & Valleys - Aquavia Lumina arrived last year at Wisconsin Dells, USA, illuminating a canyon with video projections, interactive features, lighting effects and much more. In Canada, Vallea Lumina seamlessly illuminates the coastal mountains of Whisler, British Colombia inviting visitors to discover all the secrets of the valley.

6 - A Night Walk High in the Mountains - Alta Lumina, the 12th Lumina Enchanted Night Walk located at the Les Gets ski resort, and the first one to open in Europe, is currently the highest immersive Lumina nestled at an altitude of 1172m that can be experienced year-round.

7 - A Chairlift to Experience a Lumina - Tonga Lumina starts with a fun twist, beginning with an ascent by chairlift in the heart of Mont Tremblant’s ski resort, leading into the giant’s mysterious path.

8 - The Longest Path - The Foresta Lumina Night Walk trail is the longest path to date, with 2 km of enchanted storytelling in the heart of Coaticook.

9 - Wondrous Walks at the Zoo - Over the years, the studio has partnered with three zoos: The Zoo sauvage of St-Félicien, the Toronto Zoo and the Singapore Zoo. Each hosted enchanted night walks with the goal to inspire visitors about wildlife conservation through different immersive zones where they can play, create and explore.

10 - Astra Lumina’s Beginnings - Back in 2022, the Astra Lumina journey started at the iconic mountaintop theme park Anakeesta, in Galinburg, Tennessee, followed by Los Angeles as the first international market where the experience was adapted to a versatile format and launched as a series.
