Inspired by elements of ancient Chinese mythology and longstanding Fengxian traditions, Oriens Lumina invites visitors on a journey to witness the return of the forest’s lost light. Nature’s winding pathway guides visitors through five mysterious realms that encapsulate the energy of the Five Elements: water, wood, fire, metal, and earth. The experience’s original storyworld was developed through consultation with cultural experts, who helped infuse the narrative with regional heritage and ancient mythology.
The first Lumina Enchanted Night Walk to open in China, Oriens Lumina was designed and installed remotely during the pandemic through the collaboration of a local, on-site team. The end result is a multisensory attraction that extends the centre’s offerings, provides the site with a nocturnal identity, and introduces Chinese audiences to a new format of entertainment experience.
