Designed by Oli Metcalfe, the show sees the trio getting up close with their fans – instead of a usual stadium stage set-up, they’re performing in the middle of the arena in the round on a rotating central platform with two extended catwalks kitted-out with giant projection screens. Inspired by the album’s themes of dehumanizing warfare and indoctrination, visuals feature gyrating apocalyptic figures, epic slow motion sci-fi riots, performer tracking video, and a few high-tech surprises.
This tour is one of Moment Factory’s most ambitious collaboration, featuring a system of 3D cameras and custom realtime effects pumping out responsive visuals to 12 powerful Barco projectors. Original particle, distortion, and mosaic effects also process I-MAG feeds in realtime. Adding to the dramatic atmosphere and playing up the surveillance theme, an extensive BlackTrax 3D-tracking system featuring 38 infrared cameras allows for visual effects, sound, and light cues to track band members as they move across the stage.
We love working with forward-thinking artists and Muse is no exception – they are fearless in the creation of concert experiences that make the most of cutting-edge stage design and technologies.
