Multimedia creatively captures the Great Smoky Mountains’ most iconic moments in an original winter season show created for Zoo Knoxville’s programmable outdoor amphitheater.

Zoo Knoxville collaborated with Moment Factory on Smoky Night Lights, a 360° immersive music and light show designed for the zoo’s new outdoor venue.

The first of its kind, the nighttime show transforms a natural amphitheater, inviting audiences to experience a series of dynamic tableaux from a circular elevated platform, where each vantage point offers a unique perspective.

Music, light, and projection reimagine the Smokies’ most iconic moments, from natural phenomena to diverse wildlife, interpreted in artful and entertaining ways. Over the course of the show, guests experience immersive expressions of the region’s seasons, weather, and song.

Music serves as a driving force, surrounding audiences in a soundscape where nature and melody converge. Crafted in collaboration with local musical artists, the soundtrack captures the distinct spirit of Appalachian culture.

This original show demonstrates how multimedia can transform an intimate natural space into a spectacular venue, allowing the zoo to introduce a new attraction that extends operating hours, broadens its audience, and generates additional revenue streams.
