At Moment Factory, we are always looking for crazy ways to unleash some collective creativity. This is so that as the team grows and we each have different roles on diverse projects, we reconnect with the big picture where we are all pulling in the same direction.

Last Fall, we had the idea to create a gigantic Factory-wide ‘happening‘ that would literally require ‘all hands on deck’. For inspiration and leadership, we approached Kid Koala, well-known scratch DJ and mix-master of creative forms whose live shows combine musicians, chemists, puppeteers, camera operators, and more.

Over the course of a day-long workshop, Kid Koala and his team joined more than 150 Factorians who went wild with paper, scissors, glue, and glitter as well as anything else we could put our hands on. The result was World of Bugs, a hand-crafted ‘nature mockumentary‘. The activity encouraged each of us to leave our comfort zones and take up a new role. As we launched ourselves into the spirit and fun of the craft, magic started to happen. As it turns out, some projects are not at all about the end product. Sometimes the process is all you need.
