Moment Factory unveils AURA, an immersive monumental experience at les Invalides in Paris

Starting September 22, 2023, visitors can experience AURA under the iconic Dôme des Invalides in Paris. The original Moment Factory experience, initiated and produced by Cultival, is presented in partnership with the Musée de l’Armée.
Come nightfall, visitors are invited to rediscover the iconic Dôme des Invalides like never before. Guided by light on an approximately 50-minute that brings together architectural heritage and digital art, AURA Invalides allows for moments of contemplation and a sense of connection with the site. The experience consists of three acts, each one representing a fundamental part of the landmark’s story: its original construction, the memories it sparks, and its ability to inspire.
A Unique Heritage Site, An Unprecedented Scale
A monument of exceptional scale, the Dôme des Invalides posed unprecedented challenges for Moment Factory’s creative and technical teams. Working closely with the conservation teams of the Musée de l’Armée for nearly two years, the studio has enhanced the already-spectacular architecture of the dome and the chapels while ensuring the preservation of their heritage and architectural integrity. The experience showcases the architecture, paintings, and sculptures on-site with innovative and daring creativity. The set design was meticulous and well-researched, drawing upon historical documents from the Musée de l’Armée collection.
The Birth of AURA Invalides
The project’s origins trace back to 2019, when French cultural operator Cultival was in search of innovative new cultural and touristic offerings for long-term attractions in France. Attracted to the creativity and diligence on display at the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, Cultival asked Moment Factory to bring AURA to France for the very first time.
An iconic Parisian landmark, the Dôme des Invalides, was deemed the ideal venue to welcome this mesmerizing experience, which amplifies existing architectural beauty, while forging emotional bonds between audiences and locations. Cultival then turned to the Musée de l’Armée – Hôtel des Invalides to formalize the project; since then, the three partners have worked hand in hand to bring AURA Invalides to life.
Open all year, the AURA Invalides immersive experience will welcome visitors in the evening, after the site’s closure to the daytime public.
