Moment Factory collaborates on Aquascope, Futuroscope’s new indoor water park

May 28, 2024

Starting in July 2024, visitors to Aquascope, Futuroscope’s brand-new indoor waterpark in France, can explore Les Abysses de Lumière, a multimedia scenography by Moment Factory.

Launched in 1987 as France’s first-ever theme park, Futuroscope welcomes nearly two million visitors a year. Now, it is expanding its range of attractions with Aquascope, a next-generation indoor waterpark spanning six thousand square metres.

Les Abysses de Lumière, one of Aquascope’s three experiential spaces, will whisk visitors away into a spellbindingly immersive universe combining synchronized programming of video mapping, spatialized audio, lighting, interactivity and choreographed water effects.

The immersive experience features multiple zones to discover, including the “Crique,” a mysterious cove inhabited by fantastic and uncanny wildlife and plant life, interactive beaches brimming with bioluminescent particles, and an Aquaciné where visitors can learn more about Kraki, a creature from another world.

“We’re proud to be working with Futuroscope on this project, which pushes the boundaries in the world of indoor waterparks. We’re always looking to provide visitors with the ultimate experience, and with the team at Futuroscope we’ve created Les Abysses de Lumière, a fully immersive space that is forever changing and bursting with surprises,” says Alexandre Lupien, Creative Director at Moment Factory.

The creative and technical work that went into developing this space in an aquatic setting is the result of a close collaboration, merging the diverse skill sets of Futuroscope, FMD, Moment Factory, Crystal Group, and Universal Rocks.

This project illustrates Moment Factory’s expertise in indoor waterparks and in themed attractions. It also marks the studio’s most recent collaborative effort in Europe, following AURA Invalides, an original Moment Factory creation, produced by Cultival, in partnership with Le Musée de l’Armée, France’s military museum.
