Before bringing v i b r a t i o n to MUTEK Festival for its world premiere, Honeydrip took the project to Moment Factory for a seven-day residency as part of our Creative Experimentation program.
Alongside collaborators Yasmeen Hitti and Salim Lounis, and a team of in-house creative tech experts, she experimented with sensors, contact mics, cameras, and custom audio-visual systems, testing and tweaking to figure out how to turn her body into a living sound installation.
We caught up with the Montreal producer, DJ, and sound system builder ahead of her performance to talk bass, embodiment, the creative vision behind v i b r a t i o n, and the process of making it real. Here’s what she had to say.
