Before v i b r a t i o n makes its world premiere at MUTEK, Honeydrip brought the project to Moment Factory for a seven-day residency organized by our Creative Experimentation program.
Alongside collaborators Yasmeen Hitti and Salim Lounis, and a team of in-house creative tech experts, she experimented with sensors, contact mics, cameras, and custom audio-visual systems, testing and tweaking to figure out how to turn her body into a living sound installation.
Ahead of her performance, we caught up with the Montreal producer, DJ, and sound system builder ahead of her performance to talk bass, embodiment, the creative vision behind v i b r a t i o n, and the process of making it real. Here’s what she had to say.
